A Guide to Calling Your Lawmakers

In January 2025, Families for a Livable Climate, Montana Chapter of the Sierra Club, MontPIRG, and Mom’s Clean Air Force partnered to host a training leading up to Climate Advocacy Day. This training outlines how to call your lawmaker and why it matters. Hear from Montana climate advocates about how to create personal connections with your lawmaker and why it matters for our future. This is a great resource both during and after the legislative session to build a relationship with your legislator that represents your city or county.

Feel free to watch the webinar and reach out with any follow-up questions.

Capitol Resources:

  • Call your legislator directly: go here to find every legislator and their phone number https://www.legmt.gov/legislators/

  • Call the legislative switchboard: (406) 444-4800. You can call this number to leave messages for legislators or ask general legislative questions. Callers can leave messages for up to five legislators or one legislative committee per call.

  • Use https://www.legmt.gov/ to find your representative, track bills, look up committees, watch hearings and testify online!
