Climate Cafes are facilitated conversation spaces to connect from the heart about our feelings regarding the climate crisis, in the company of engaged, supportive others. Given the magnitude of what we’re facing, it’s common to feel paralyzed by fear, hopelessness, and cynicism. When we share from our heart and witness others feeling similarly to us, we can regain our sense of connection to and support from a collective fabric made out of people who care, and likely become re-energized by the power of community. Climate Cafes are a wonderful way to take care of our hearts, build community, and nurture ourselves emotionally so that we can keep working to regenerate and protect life on Earth.

How It Works: The Climate Cafe is an hour and a half facilitated space for sharing that gives a maximum of 12 participants the opportunity to answer two general prompts:
1. Introduction: tell us something about yourself, how you are experiencing our climate crisis and injustices, and why you choose to join a Cafe.
2. Reflection: once everyone introduces themselves, each person speaks again to share what they noticed inside themselves as they listened to their fellow participants’ introductions.
Ground Rules:
-Welcome and respect one another’s emotions and experiences, even when they’re different than yours.
-Practice deep listening while others speak.
-Allow for silence.
-Maintain confidentiality.
Donations: A $5-$15 suggested donation is requested. Please attend even if you are unable to pay the full or partial fee.
